Introducing your new Members’ Representatives

We are delighted to introduce ourselves, as Seacourt’s new Members’ Representatives. Some of you may know us already and some of you may not. So, here’s a little more about us:

Nigel Ireson
Nigel joined Seacourt in 2001 as a Badminton player. He reached county status in the game, but is now more often seen on the Real Tennis court, having been Captain of the successful Brodie Cup team for many years. Nigel also served on the Board for many years, being an integral part of the creation of the new membership structure and its delivery. After stepping down in 2022, he is now looking forward to this new aspect of Club life and creating a clearer cohesion between members and the Board.

Andie Harding
Andie joined the Club as a junior and was taught by legendary, Peter Dawes. Her heart is on the Lawn Tennis court, but she will pick up a racquet for any of the sports on offer, having been successful in the Lily Mae competition in 2019. She was co-opted to the Board early 2019 and was instrumental in bringing about the new membership structure and the new gym. Andie has now stepped down, to focus on this new role and hopes to bring the same energy to the areas and aspects most important to the members.

Matt Simpson
The newest kid on the block is Matt. Having moved to the island with his family in 2021, he has fully immersed himself into Seacourt life. Joining as a Squash player, he was enticed onto the Real Tennis court by the Have-A-Go sessions. He is now an extremely useful team player at doubles and singles. Matthew is passionate about encouraging a younger demographic to Seacourt. If not on court, Matt can be found at the pool table or darts board.

As your reps, we are here to listen and act on your behalf as a liaison with the main Board and we hope to be able to send out regular dispatches for all the relevant aspects of Club life for Members. However, we would also like to get behind the sport at the Club and ensure there is plenty available for all members, at all levels. If you would like to contact us with ideas, wish lists or concerns, you can do this at membersreps@seacourt.com or you can come and chat to us in person. We plan to be at the Club the first Monday of each month, with the first being 4 March from 6pm – 8pm. It may be all of us, it may only be one of us, but do come and say Hello!

Nigel, Andie and Matt
