On Tuesday the new group of Junior Real Tennis Players experienced their first go at a Tournament. It was all played in a fun atmosphere with 11 youngsters playing in groups, ending in a final.
The group of juniors have been having lessons with Paul Weaver and Tim Armstrong on Saturday mornings and some after-school coaching too. Over the last 3 months, these juniors have embraced the game of Real Tennis. They all now know the rules and etiquette of the game and this was highlighted during their tournament. Paul was extremely proud of how they have progressed and their attitude and sportsmanship. The matches were all marked by Drew, Tim & Paul.
After an afternoon full of competition, the final was between Freddie Dodgson (yes…another Dodgson!) and Erin Palmer. Erin has a very good left handed serve as her main weapon, but Freddie managed to work her serve out and won the Final.
All the Juniors seemed to really enjoy their first experience of a competitive tournament, Paul gave out prizes and certificates to all who took part and congratulated them on completing their first term of Real Tennis lessons.
Well done to all who took part and to the winner…Freddie Dodgson!
Above are some of the Juniors having fun in their first tournament. The parents clubbed together to buy Paul a gift…a trolley for the balls when he is coaching…very much appreciated by Paul!
