Hi everyone,
And that’s a wrap! Today marks the final day of another fantastic Reds and Blues competition — what a weekend it has been!
A total of 70 players, from the young to the slightly more experienced, participated across 11 different sports currently played at Seacourt. We witnessed many closely contested matches, with several being decided by just a single point. It was wonderful to see everyone giving their best while enjoying the friendly and welcoming atmosphere throughout the weekend.
While there was certainly plenty of competitive spirit on display, it was equally impressive to witness the friendliness, sportsmanship, and good humor exhibited by everyone involved.
One thing we can guarantee is that every participant met and played with someone they hadn’t previously encountered. That, more than anything, is what the Reds and Blues competition is all about — bringing people together and showcasing the fantastic community spirit we have here at Seacourt.
Of course, no Reds and Blues competition would be complete without the traditional finale — the captains facing off in the final game. With both captains being pickleball players, there was really only one logical choice: PICKLEBALL!
What followed was a truly spectacular showcase of pickleball, featuring excellent rallies, impressive shots, and plenty of enthusiasm from both captains. The Blues took the honors in the final game, but it wasn’t enough to close the overall gap, leaving the Reds to claim the title with a final score of 228 – 212.
Congratulations to the Reds, and well played to the Blues!
A huge thank you to everyone who played, organized, supported, cheered, scored, umpired, and contributed to making the weekend such a success.
Though the competition may be over, the friendships, laughter, and memories created during the weekend will hopefully last long after the final score.
