Seacourt v The Jesters Sunday 8th February

On Sunday, February 8th, Seacourt faced the formidable Jesters team, and it turned out to be a fantastic day of real tennis.

The first match featured Nick Jones and Patrick Lewis going up against Steve Calder-Smith and Nick Wherry. The Jesters took control from the outset, applying pressure on the Seacourt duo. Although it was a competitive match, the Jesters won in straight sets.

Next on court were Nick Atkins and Matt Boulton, who played against Julian Butcher and David Dickson. Seacourt took the initiative, minimising errors, and they won comfortably in straight sets.

Following this, Nick Atkins stayed on court to team up with Nigel Ireson to take on Paul Wright and Charlie Horrell. This match proved to be much tighter; Seacourt narrowly clinched the first set 6-5, but the Jesters fought back to win the second set 6-4. In a tense final set, Seacourt was pipped 6-2.

In the last match, Patrick Lewis and Kev Nelson lost the first set 6-1 but quickly found their rhythm. They saved five match points in the second set and managed to take it 6-5. The final set was closely contested, but the Jesters ultimately won 6-3.

Overall, it was a great day of tennis! A huge thank you to everyone for participating in this fixture, and special thanks to Fiona for providing a delicious buffet for everyone.
