The first Seacourt’s Ladies Padel tournament took place over the weekend, featuring four participating teams. Although the number of competitors was low, the event showcased some fantastic Padel. The tournament began with newcomers Sophie Roseaman and Kerry Thew facing off against the more experienced duo of Jo Lewis and Kerry Dobbin. Jo and Kerry’s skill and understanding of the game proved decisive, and they won the match in two straight sets.
Next, Tory Wall and Peta Taylor played against Maria Knight and Alyson Johnstone. This match was closer, but Maria and Alyson’s strong serving helped them secure victory, also in two sets. After a short break, Tory and Peta returned to the court to compete against Sophie and Kerry. Once again, the more experienced pair of Tory and Peta came out on top.
The final match featured Maria and Alyson facing Jo and Kerry. It was an exciting contest, starting with a very tight first set that Maria and Alyson won 6-5. Jo and Kerry responded strongly in the second set, winning it 6-2. As the final set progressed, Jo and Kerry took a 4-2 lead. However, Maria and Alyson staged an impressive comeback, winning the next four games to take the final set 6-4 and clinch the tournament victory.
