Congratulations Caroline & Hugh
After Saturday’s washout, when all the matches were canceled, we managed to hold the Mixed Doubles Final on Sunday.
This was a repeat of last year’s final, Caroline MacDowell and Hugh Latham versus Sue Bethell & Vince Venus.
Caroline and Hugh raced into a 5-0 start in the first set and won 6-1. Caroline and Hugh had the better start in the second set, however, Sue and Vinnie came back strongly and took the second set 7-5. The third set was extremely close and could have gone either way. Some fantastic tennis was played, eventually, Caroline and Hugh won the third set 6-4 and the match.
Thank you to all who came down to watch and support, there was a great atmosphere at the Club.
The Ladies and Men’s Finals will be held as soon as convenient dates can be arranged for everyone.
