Seacourt v Hurlingham

On Sunday, October 19th, Seacourt hosted the Hurlingham Club from West London for their annual match, featuring five matches in total.

The first match was between Paul Spraggs and Colin Jones, with Paul receiving a handicap. It was a hard-fought contest, but Paul emerged victorious with a score of 6/3, 6/4.

Next up was Club Chairman Nick Atkins, who played for Hurlingham against Mark Gillespie, also with a handicap. Nick proved to be too strong for Mark, winning decisively at 6/3, 6/1.

With Seacourt trailing 0/2, Mark Gillespie teamed up with Graham Law to take on Nick Atkins and Ben Havey. Hurlingham won a closely contested first set 6/5, before securing the match with final scores of 6/5, 6/2.

In another matchup, Graham Law and Nigel Ireson faced Paul Spraggs and Richard Dalzell. After losing the first set, Graham and Nigel turned it around, winning the final set 6/5.

In the final match, Nigel and Colin played against Ben Havey and Dominic Higham. The Hurlingham team, nicknamed the Pigeons, won this match 6/4, 6/0, clinching the day with a 4 to 1 victory overall.

It was a fantastic day of tennis, played in great spirit. A special thanks to Paul Spraggs for organizing his team, and to Fiona for her amazing roast lunches, which kept everyone satisfied!
