Seacourt Juniors dominate the British U16 Handicap Doubles

On Sunday, April 27th, 16 young Real Tennis players from various clubs gathered at the Bristol Club for a tournament. The handicaps were well-calibrated, resulting in numerous 5-5 all and 40-all scores during the group stages. Ryan Wallace from Seacourt, partnered with a junior player from Hyde, reached the semi-finals, along with brothers Daniel and Jack Morgan, also from Seacourt.

The Morgan brothers advanced to the final, where they faced the local Bristol pairing of Matthew Galvin and Benedict Westcott. Despite nearly being eliminated during the group stages, Daniel and Jack found their rhythm and dominated the final match, ultimately claiming victory and lifting the prestigious Dedanists’ Foundation Cup.

We extend our gratitude to the Bristol Club for hosting a wonderful day of tennis, with special thanks to Ben Taylor-Matthews, who officiated every match. Lunch was provided by Sarah Beale, the new Junior Coordinator at the Bristol Club.

The tournament was sponsored by The Dedanists’ Foundation, and the magnificent trophy was presented to Daniel and Jack by Paul Weaver, the Dedanists’ Foundation Ambassador.
