Wimbledon Fever comes to Seacourt with the Fun Doubles

As Wimbledon grips the nation, Seacourt hosted its very own Lawn Tennis Fun Doubles this weekend. Not even the weather stopped play and a fun and exciting round of games took place. Players of all abilities took to the court, Seacourt’s finest and most talented as well as some eager beginners.

Jess Garside and Andy Morgan competed with Dave Atkins and Marta Morgan in an exciting final. It was a close and gripping match with Jess and Andy taking the trophy. All players enjoyed a delicious BBQ afterward, expertly cooked by Pete Wilson.

Lawn Tennis newbie, Joanna Young, commented “This was my second competitive match at Seacourt. I am always wracked with nerves leading up to the day and walking on the court. But the atmosphere is always brilliant and new players are warmly welcomed. Playing alongside more experienced players is great fun and helps you up your game.

Attending club nights, every Friday has really helped to develop my technique as well as weekly lessons with Rich. Seacourt is a friendly club with some very talented and skilled lawn tennis players who are happy to share their knowledge and experience.”

Thank you to Caroline and Rich for organising a brilliant and fun Lawn Tennis event. Thanks also to Pete Wilson and Jan Woods who cooked up a delicious BBQ and the bar team for supplying refreshing jugs of Pimm’s. Check out the Seacourt What’s on page for forthcoming competitions.
