It was celebrations all round this weekend as Team Seacourt secured promotion to the next league group in the Alverstoke Pickle League, following a superb performance on Sunday.
Led by Team Captain Anthony Scanes, the six-player squad, which included Kaylee Brasher, Louise Vinell, Hayden Young, Joanna Young and Steven Young, took on strong sides from both U3A and Alverstoke. The team delivered a series of impressive displays, showcasing consistency, teamwork, and top-level pickle skills that placed Seacourt first in their group, with 9 out of 12 wins.
A special mention goes to Hayden, who, despite being new to the sport, rose to the challenge and delivered an excellent performance in his first-ever league match.
Pickleball continues to grow in popularity at Seacourt, and fun, competitive league events like this provide the perfect opportunity for players to develop their game, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and help raise the club’s profile within the wider community.
