Seacourt’s Pickleball team proudly took part in its first-ever tournament on Saturday, travelling to the prestigious Winchester College to compete for the Sir Alfred Cup.
It was a fantastic day of competition, hangovers, chafing, camaraderie, and great sportsmanship, with four strong teams taking part. The level of play was impressively high, with most competitors playing at a 3.5 rating or above.
Our team rose to the challenge, playing a total of 12 matches each throughout the day. After some hard-fought games and excellent rallies, Seacourt secured a respectable third place.
A big thank you to Winchester Pickleball Club at Winchester College for hosting such a well-organised and enjoyable event. It was a great experience for our players and a brilliant step forward for Seacourt’s growing Pickleball community.
Thank you to James Green for organising the new Pickleball tops and thank you to Wainwright Estate Agents for donating towards them.
We’d also like to give a special thank-you to the Seacourt supporters who travelled up to cheer the team on—their encouragement made a real difference and added to the fantastic atmosphere of the day.
And finally great job to Ross for organising the matches and being the driving force behind the growing pickleball community.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce two upcoming home matches at Seacourt. On Saturday 26th April, we’ll be hosting Clanfield, followed by a match against Gosport on Sunday 27th April.
We’d love to see as many of you as possible come down and support the team.
We hope to see you there!
