The Ladies’ Real Tennis World Championship is taking place this week in Newport, Rhode Island, USA. Seacourt’s Jess Garside is proudly representing the club in both the singles and doubles competitions.
Jess had a fantastic start to her campaign, defeating American player Claire Voegele with a score of 6-1, 6-0 in the first round. In the second round, she faced left-handed Australian competitor Jo See Tan in a closer match but managed to secure the victory with a score of 6-1, 6-4.
Now advancing to the third round, Jess faced the fourth seed, Tara Lumley. Despite her strong performance, Jess lost the match 6-2, 6-2. It was still a great run for her in the singles event!
Jess is scheduled to play doubles on Thursday, the 29th, at 7 PM BST, partnering with Jo See Tan against the number one seeds, Claire Fahey and Tara Lumley.
Good luck, Jess!
